Duke and Dixie, our beloved rescue dogs, are the inspiration behind the blog name Dogs Ryoule (Rule).
While social distancing, I've enjoyed looking back through pictures and writing about the memorable events in our life, home improvement projects and hopefully new adventures in the near future. If you're not familiar with our story here's a little bit about us.
I grew up in Central Iowa and moved to Arizona when I was 19 before venturing out to San Diego in my early 20’s. I lived in The Golden State for a little over a decade and met my husband when I was 29. For the past 15 years, I’ve worked in IT for the insurance industry.
My husband Jeremy grew up in St Louis and helped run their family restaurant for 13 years until I coaxed him to San Diego. He started working for Cintas when he moved to California and continues to work for them today. He's an avid bass fisherman and spends most of his time on the water, competing in local and national tournaments.
Four years ago we moved to Franklin, Tennessee to be closer to our family in the mid-west and that’s when Duke and Dixie joined our crew.
Duke (Dukie) was first to join our family in March of 2017, he’s a 65lb Shar-Pei and Lab mix. He packs a bark to protect us from delivery drivers, but he’s a lovable and sensitive people pleaser.
Dixie (Doodle) joined our family in October of 2017, her paperwork said lab and X so we can only speculate on the ‘X’ factor. She’s strong willed, a little wild and likes to do things on her own time. She’s our 50lb lap dog that prefers to be cuddled up next to you.
